Havok is vegan, which is awesome, but I joined PETA for my own reasons. Yes, all vegan bands influenced me to an extent (Anti-Flag, Rise Against, Moby, the Smiths, too many to name) but I did it for the animals.
Best Friends is awesome. I will absolutely send them money soon. :-) I’ve heard mixed things about ALF. I absolutely support them in theory but I need to educate myself about their organization, how it works, and their methodology before I could either wholly support or wholly oppose them. PETA does a good job getting people’s attention, creating awareness and pushing progressive policy… plus, they come with so many endorsements that I feel entirely comfortable joining. ALF is something I’d have to look into. There are sketchy stories floating around, but those might be unfounded rumors. Kudos to you if you do support ALF… they are an organization I do consider as I feel strongly in favor of their mission statement.
I love Black Sails… I spent my high school years listening to CD’s like that. All eras of AFI are good, although Answer That and Stay Fashionable was too hardcore for my liking. They got better as they got more melodic. Arguably my favorite AFI song is “Days of the Phoenix” which I will get around to posting soon. :-)
