I get all nervous now when I click on YouTube links. Is this something I want going on my permanent record?
If that’s the case, you should get nervous anytime you click on anything. To view content on the internet, files have to pass through any number of servers and routers, all of whom keep logs of where information is being transferred. If somebody wanted to find out what you were doing it wouldn’t be very hard.
Then again, there are millions and millions and millions of people online and we’re all doing the same pointless crap. The odds of someone being singled out on an individual basis for snooping purposes are pretty slim. Of course, I am for privacy and against invasion of privacy but the seizing of YouTube’s logs by Viacom probably won’t effect you in any big way.
