You know how 50% of the recurring gags and jokes that are circulating through popular culture are attributable to The Simpsons, to the extent that the South Park writers can’t do an original plot without accidentally stealing their stuff? Well, the other half are attributable to Bill Hicks.
The above rip-off was in fact much funnier when Hicks wrote it because he added “BIG BANG!!” at the end and also because he wasn’t trying to ridicule atheists as much as he was simply making a humorous observation.
